Site Reliability Engineer | National Security

Location: Leeds (hybrid)

Salary: Up to £72,000 + benefits

Type: Permanent

Clearance: Must hold or be eligible and willing to undergo UK security clearance

Build more reliable systems; with at least half your time dedicated to engineering and automation.

Join a leading technology consultancy supporting mission-critical National Security applications. You’ll investigate complex production issues, improve observability and build automation that reduces repetitive support work.

What you’ll be doing

• Improving the availability, performance and resilience of essential applications and services.
• Diagnosing production issues across applications, databases and infrastructure.
• Replacing manual operational tasks with code and automation.
• Adding monitoring and logging to identify problems and measure improvements.
• Working with development teams to design applications that are easier to operate and scale.

What we’re looking for

• Experience in SRE, DevOps, production engineering or software development with production responsibilities.
• Practical coding experience, ideally including Java, alongside scripting with Bash, PowerShell or similar.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across applications and infrastructure.
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or OpenStack.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as ELK, plus containers such as Docker.

Experience with Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Chef or Puppet would also be useful.
