Join Arcus as a Minor Works Estimator

Are you an experienced Estimator with a strong technical background and a passion for delivering commercially successful projects?

We're looking for a Minor Works Estimator to join our growing Minor Works team in Redditch. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with hands-on trade experience or a strong technical qualification who can accurately price projects, understand the end-to-end delivery process, and ensure works are both competitive and profitable.

Working closely with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, you'll play a key role in securing and delivering a diverse range of minor works projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and commercial performance.

The Role

As a Minor Works Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive quotations for a wide variety of minor works projects. You'll ensure all costs are fully considered, margins are achieved, and works are compliant with regulatory and contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing accurate and competitive estimates and quotations for minor works projects.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and project requirements.
  • Undertaking material take-offs and sourcing materials competitively.
  • Ensuring all estimates account for labour, materials, subcontractors, compliance requirements, and associated project costs.
  • Building and maintaining a reliable subcontractor network.
  • Collaborating with internal Arcus teams to maximise the use of in-house resources.
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, HSQE standards, and all relevant legislation.
  • Monitoring project performance against original estimates to ensure profitability targets are achieved.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers, wholesalers and manufacturers to secure best value and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Supporting the preparation and implementation of method statements and risk assessments where required.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of client contracts and requirements.

About You

We're looking for an experienced estimator who combines strong commercial awareness with excellent technical knowledge.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an Estimator role within construction, building services, facilities management, or a similar environment.
  • Hands-on trade experience or a formal technical qualification.
  • Strong understanding of building works and project delivery processes.
  • Proven ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent knowledge of CDM Regulations and associated compliance requirements.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a focus on profitability and value engineering.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High levels of attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Project, Access and PowerPoint.
  • A full UK driving licence.
