We’re recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing international business that have built its own platform inhouse than off the shelf and is used by thousands of businesses across the globe.

They’re now creating a brand new Business Systems Engineer role to own the systems that keep the business running.

The opportunity

The client runs a connected Microsoft estate spanning Dynamics 365 CRM and Business Central, alongside the in-house platform, a central data hub and an automation layer. They’re consolidating these into a single automated data flow, retiring legacy tools and replacing manual handoffs with integrated workflows. They’re also working towards ISO 27001 certification.

This is not a ticket queue role. You’ll take real ownership of the systems you support, supporting around 120 colleagues across four countries, with funded certification to help you develop as a specialist.

What you’ll be doing

• Owning first and second line support for Dynamics 365 CRM, Business Central and the in-house renewal platform
• Diagnosing root cause and driving out recurring issues, rather than repeating workarounds
• Configuring security roles, permissions, workflows, document layouts and reference data under change control
• Testing vendor fixes, extensions and monthly releases in sandbox before they go live
• Supporting platform upgrades, regression testing and cutover
• Working with the wider IT team on integrations, automation and data flows into the central data hub
• Using SQL and Dataverse to trace data failures, reconcile records and fix duplication and sync issues
• Escalating to implementation partners with clear, well-evidenced diagnostics, and seeing cases through to resolution
• Building the knowledge base and how-to guides, and running short training sessions
• Supporting ISO 27001 evidence for access, change management and user administration

What you’ll bring

• 2+ years supporting business applications (ERP, CRM or similar) in a first and second line, ticket-driven environment
• Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise business system, ideally Dynamics 365 Business Central or CRM
• Working SQL knowledge for querying, reconciliation and data correction
• Confident Microsoft 365 administration (Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams)
• Structured fault-finding, and the ability to explain issues clearly to technical and non-technical colleagues
• Experience raising and managing escalations with third-party software providers
• Strong organisation and sound prioritisation without close supervision
• An IT degree or relevant industry experience and qualifications

• Power Platform exposure (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI)
• Integration or automation tooling
• PostgreSQL or Dataverse experience
• ERP upgrade or migration project experience
• ITIL Foundation

Working pattern

This role is office based a minimum of 3 days per week, with some flexibility. During the probation period, 5 days in the office is expected.
