The position will own the end-to-end decommissioning of a portfolio of industrial battery storage sites, from execution strategy through to site closeout. You will develop the plan and budget for each site, manage contractors and DNO disconnections, and return every site safely to its lease and planning conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the execution strategy, decommissioning plan and budget for each site.
  • Author scope documents and obtain proposals from specialist contractors.
  • Manage the contracting process in conjunction with the supply chain function.
  • Manage and track the programme budget, forecasting cost and identifying variances early.
  • Manage DNO disconnection applications and coordinate the safe isolation of each site from its incoming supply.
  • Oversee the dismantling of electrical equipment, arranging resale where possible and compliant disposal of the remainder.
  • Manage the removal of civil works and ground remediation, returning each site to its specified lease and planning conditions.
  • Control site works alongside the allocated Project Engineer, including attending contractor site visits and providing visible site management.
  • Ensure CDM Principal Contractor and Principal Designer duties are fulfilled throughout the works.
  • Produce and deliver monthly reporting packs for both internal stakeholders and the client.
  • Produce a closeout pack for each site on completion.

Experience Required

  • A proven track record of delivering energy, HV or construction projects is essential.
  • Experience managing projects across multiple sites concurrently.
  • Familiarity with electrical distribution systems.
  • Experience managing DNO applications and disconnections is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of the contract management process, including scoping, tendering and managing contractors.
  • Working knowledge of CDM Regulations and the duties of the Principal Contractor and Principal Designer.
  • Experience managing project budgets and producing cost and progress reporting.
  • Ability to produce high quality written documents and presentations, with a high level of IT literacy.
  • Confident, credible presence with clients and senior stakeholders.
