Health & Safety Advisor – Construction

Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time

Sector: Construction

Looking to develop your career in Health & Safety? This could be the perfect opportunity!

We are working with an established and growing construction business looking to recruit an enthusiastic Health & Safety Advisor to join its team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in construction or some construction exposure and a passion for health and safety who is looking to take the next step in their career.

You don't need to know everything from day one! Our client is keen to invest in the right person, offering excellent training, ongoing mentoring and genuine opportunities for career progression.

Whether you're an experienced Health & Safety Advisor or someone with construction experience and a NEBOSH or IOSH qualification looking to develop your career, we'd love to hear from you.

What makes this opportunity different?
  • Excellent Training & Development – Ongoing investment in professional qualifications, technical training and personal development.
  • Genuine Career Progression – Clear opportunities to develop into more senior Health & Safety positions as your experience grows.
  • Supportive Management Team – Work alongside experienced professionals who will provide guidance, mentoring and support.
  • Varied & Interesting Work – Gain exposure to different construction projects, sites and health and safety challenges.
  • Growing Business – Join an established company that values its people and encourages long-term career development.
  • Autonomy & Responsibility – Build your confidence and experience whilst making a genuine difference to workplace safety.
The Role

Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, you'll help promote a positive safety culture across the business, supporting construction site teams and ensuring high standards of health and safety compliance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out regular health and safety inspections across construction sites.
  • Supporting site managers and operational teams with health and safety matters.
  • Assisting with risk assessments, method statements (RAMS) and safe working procedures.
  • Identifying potential hazards and recommending practical improvements.
  • Supporting accident and incident investigations.
  • Helping deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and training.
  • Monitoring compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Working with management to continuously improve safety standards.
What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:

  • Previous experience within construction, housebuilding or a related industry.
  • A NEBOSH or IOSH qualification, or are currently working towards one.
  • Some knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to engage with site teams.
  • A proactive, practical and positive approach to health and safety.
  • A genuine desire to learn, develop and progress professionally.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Don't tick every box? Please still apply!

Our client is more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, enthusiasm and potential than someone who already has years of experience.

What's On Offer?
  • Competitive salary depending on experience.
  • Excellent training and professional development opportunities.
  • Support towards additional health and safety qualifications.
  • Direct mentoring from an experienced Health & Safety Manager.
  • Long-term career progression within a growing construction business.
  • Supportive, friendly and professional working environment.
  • Opportunity to develop your skills across a variety of construction projects.
