About Xentra

Xentra is a growing managed security service provider, helping organisations protect themselves against cyber threats through managed detection and response, threat intelligence, penetration testing and ongoing security support. Demand for our services is growing, and we’re looking for a Technical Services Engineer to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to build a future in cyber security. Full training is provided.

This is a customer-facing role. You’ll be talking to customers every day by phone, email and video call, from their IT contacts to senior managers, so you’ll need to be confident and comfortable working directly with external customers. You’ll also tackle problems of varying complexity, and we’ll trust you to use your initiative and work through challenges independently.

What you’ll do

•Onboard new customers onto our security services and make sure everything is set up and working.

•Investigate and resolve support tickets raised by customers and our security partners.

•Help tune and improve our services so customers get useful, relevant alerts.

•Prepare customer reports and join regular service review calls.

•Contribute to threat advisories, blogs and service documentation.

•Support the wider team with projects and new customer scoping.

•Be a day-to-day point of contact for customers, building strong relationships and keeping them informed.

•Work through technical problems independently, using your initiative to find solutions and knowing when to escalate.

What we’re looking for

•1 to 2 years in an IT support, infrastructure or similar technical role (or equivalent study or apprenticeship).

•Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365 and basic networking.

•A genuine interest in cyber security and a desire to learn.

•Confidence dealing with external customers day to day, with clear written and verbal communication at all levels.

•Strong problem-solving skills and the initiative to work through challenges on your own, with an organised and curious approach.

•Experience with security tools or an entry-level security certification (such as CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft SC-900) would be a bonus but isn’t essential.

What we offer

•Full training and funded certifications.

•A clear path to progress within a growing security team.

•Hybrid working.

•28 Days Holiday excluding Bank Holidays

•Matched pension contributions
