Senior Claims Handler - Care Sector - #2180808

We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, supportive and hardworking Care Claims team, where you'll manage a varied portfolio of technical claims and have real scope to develop your career.

Working across the care, education and not-for-profit sectors, you'll handle complex and sensitive claims while taking ownership of decisions and developing effective strategies.

You'll manage a varied caseload of claims involving organisations such as residential care providers, specialist adult care services, schools, charities and foster care providers.

Your work will include:

• Handling claims involving personal injury, professional liability, public liability, management liability and historic abuse

• Managing claims from initial notification through to settlement or resolution

• Assessing liability, policy coverage and potential exposure

• Developing and driving effective claims strategies, including litigated matters

• Working closely with insurers, brokers, solicitors and external experts

• Building strong stakeholder relationships and managing competing priorities

• Specialist Care Claims team handling complex and varied claims

Essential:

• Experience handling technical insurance claims or a relevant legal background

• A strong understanding of liability claims and insurance policy wordings

• The ability to manage a varied caseload and progress claims independently

• Strong communication, organisational and decision-making skills

• A proactive approach and a genuine interest in the care sector

Desirable:

• Experience within care, healthcare, education or related sectors

• Exposure to Employers' Liability, Public Liability, Professional Indemnity or Management Liability claims

• Experience handling personal injury, professional negligence or sensitive claims

• Legal qualifications or a willingness to study towards CII qualifications
