Principal Architect – Dynamics 365 & Power Platform

The Opportunity

We're working with an established financial services organisation embarking on an exciting Dynamics 365 transformation, looking to appoint a Principal Architect to shape the strategic direction, architecture and adoption of the platform.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a growing technology capability from its early stages, defining how Dynamics 365 and Power Platform are implemented, governed and leveraged to deliver meaningful business value.

Working closely with senior stakeholders and an external implementation partner, you'll combine strategic architectural leadership with hands-on technical expertise to influence decisions, establish best practices and drive the platform's long-term evolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform architecture, strategy and technology roadmap.
• Establish architectural standards, governance frameworks and best practices to support a scalable, sustainable platform.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, challenge requirements and translate business objectives into effective technical solutions.
• Provide technical direction and architectural oversight, working collaboratively with external implementation partners.
• Manage and prioritise the platform backlog, balancing immediate business requirements with longer-term strategic objectives.
• Remain technically involved, providing solution design expertise and ensuring architectural decisions support business outcomes.

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience architecting solutions across Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, with recent hands-on technical involvement.
• Proven experience defining technology strategies, architectural roadmaps and governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Dynamics 365 architecture, Dataverse, integrations and the wider Microsoft ecosystem.
• Experience leading enterprise-scale implementations or platform transformation initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to influence senior leadership and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
• Experience working with third-party implementation partners, providing technical assurance and architectural direction.
• A collaborative, commercially minded approach, combining strategic thinking with practical delivery.

Previous experience within financial services would be advantageous but isn't essential.
