Sea Import Clerk - #2183995

An established freight forwarding business is looking for an experienced Sea Import Clerk to join its team in Leeds. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in sea freight imports who enjoys working in a busy team environment and has a good understanding of the import process.
The Role

• Managing sea import shipments from origin through to final delivery
• Handling import documentation and ensuring all paperwork is accurate and completed on time
• Liaising with overseas agents, shipping lines and hauliers
• Arranging customs clearance and coordinating deliveries
• Tracking shipments and keeping customers updated on progress
• Dealing with shipment delays, queries and issues as they arise
• Maintaining accurate shipment files and ensuring imports are processed efficiently

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a sea freight import role within a freight forwarding environment
• Good understanding of the sea import process from start to finish
• Knowledge of import documentation and customs procedures
• Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and overseas agents
• Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments.Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work well as part of a team
