Planning Manager - #2184392

TDM Recruitment is working exclusively with a fast-growing, privately owned developer with a strong pipeline of new-build schemes across the UK. They now want a Construction Planning Manager to join their Development team and own construction programming in the pre-commencement and pre-development stages.

This role sits on the front end of the process. You won’t be overseeing build on site. Your job is to make sure every scheme is properly programmed, sequenced and ready to go before it passes to the Construction Delivery business. You’ll report directly to the Managing Director of Development, so you’ll have real influence over how projects are set up from day one.

The role

• Build and own detailed construction programmes in Asta Powerproject, from early feasibility through to construction start
• Plan pre-commencement activity, including discharge of conditions, design and technical sign-off, procurement lead-in and enabling works
• Work with land, planning, design, technical and commercial colleagues to bring each scheme’s dependencies into one clear programme
• Spot programme risks early, run logic and critical path reviews, and give the senior team clear, reliable reporting
• Run a structured handover of each project to the Construction Delivery team, with realistic, buildable and fully sequenced programmes
• Help set planning standards, templates and best practice as the development pipeline grows

About you

• A background with a Tier 1 main contractor, or Tier 1 planning experience gained elsewhere
• Expert in Asta Powerproject (essential)
• Strong pre-construction and pre-development planning experience, not just site-phase programming
• Thorough knowledge of construction sequencing, procurement lead-in and the critical path
• Confident presenting programmes to senior stakeholders and challenging assumptions where needed
• Organised and commercially aware, and happy working in a client-side development setting
