Are you a graduate, youth worker, sports coach or support worker looking for a new opportunity in education?

The Supply Register is recruiting enthusiastic, confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Leeds, with immediate starts available.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with transferable skills who are interested in gaining classroom experience and exploring a career in teaching or education. Previous teaching experience is not essential, as we welcome applications from candidates with strong behaviour management, communication and leadership skills.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise secondary school classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-planned lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment.

• Supervise classes across a range of secondary subjects and year groups.

• Deliver pre-planned lesson materials and follow teachers' instructions.

• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain high expectations.

• Encourage student participation and engagement in learning.

• Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.

We are particularly interested in candidates with transferable experience from other sectors, including:

• Youth workers, sports coaches and activity leaders.

• Support workers, carers and individuals with mentoring experience.

• Graduates with a BA or MA in a subject relevant to the secondary school curriculum.

• Strong behaviour management, communication and interpersonal skills.

• A confident, resilient and professional approach to working with young people.

Previous classroom experience is desirable but not essential. The most important qualities are confidence, reliability and the ability to manage and engage young people.
