1st Line IT Support Engineer / Graduate IT Support

Leeds | £26,250–£30,000 | Hybrid Working

Two positions available – Graduate / Trainee and Experienced 1st Line Support Engineer

We're working with an established IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) in Leeds that's looking to recruit two people into its growing IT support team.

Whether you're looking to start your career in IT or already have some experience working in an IT support or service desk environment, this could be a great opportunity to develop your skills and gain exposure to a wide range of technologies.

You'll be joining a supportive team, helping businesses with their day-to-day IT requirements, troubleshooting technical issues and getting involved in client installations and projects.

The Opportunities

1. Graduate / Trainee IT Support Engineer – £26,250

Ideal for someone looking to begin their career in IT.

You don't need previous professional IT support experience, but you should have a genuine interest in technology, good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Some familiarity with Windows, Microsoft 365 or basic networking would be beneficial.

An IT qualification, degree, college course, home-lab experience or customer service background would also be useful.

2. 1st Line IT Support Engineer – Up to £30,000 DOE

For someone who already has experience working in IT support, ideally within a service desk, helpdesk or MSP environment.

You'll be comfortable troubleshooting common IT issues, supporting end users and working with technologies such as Windows, Microsoft 365, user accounts and basic networking.

Previous MSP experience would be advantageous, but isn't essential.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing 1st Line IT support to business customers via phone, email and remote support tools.
  • Troubleshooting Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Outlook and general IT issues.
  • Supporting user accounts, password resets and access permissions.
  • Setting up and configuring laptops, desktops and other equipment.
  • Diagnosing basic networking, Wi-Fi and connectivity problems.
  • Logging, managing and escalating support tickets where necessary.
  • Assisting with client installations and IT projects.
  • Working alongside experienced engineers to develop your technical knowledge.

Technologies You'll Gain Exposure To

  • Windows 10/11
  • Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint and OneDrive
  • Microsoft Entra ID
  • Windows Server and Microsoft Azure
  • Networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, LAN, Wi-Fi, switches and firewalls
  • IT support and remote troubleshooting tools

You won't be expected to know everything, particularly for the Graduate / Trainee position. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine interest in IT and technology.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • A logical approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Someone reliable, organised and keen to develop.
  • Previous IT support experience for the £30,000 position.
  • A full UK driving licence, as occasional travel to local client sites is required.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: £26,250 (Graduate / Trainee) or up to £30,000 (Experienced 1st Line Engineer).

Location: Leeds

Working pattern:

  • Monday–Thursday: Office-based
  • Friday: Work from home

Benefits:

  • Private medical insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Company pension
  • On-site parking
  • Company events
  • Training and career development opportunities
  • Exposure to a broad range of IT technologies and client environments
