Teaching Assistant - #767943

Milk Education is partnered with a mainstream secondary school in the north of Leeds that is looking to appoint a full time Teaching Assistant to start in September 2023. As a Teaching Assistant will be required to worth with children from 11 to 16 years old with Special Education Needs (SEN). Hours for a Teaching Assistant are 08:30 - 15:30. Monday to Friday, term time only. Applicants must be available for the 5 days per week.

To be considered for the Teaching Assistant post, you must:

* Have previous experience working with children in a mainstream or SEND setting in a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support or Pastoral role.
* Be able to demonstrate patience and empathy for young people with SEMH Issues and Trauma.
* Have confidence in managing challenging behaviour
* Excellent organisational skills to keep on top of marking and lesson planning
* Good communication skills

Specific duties and responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:

* Supervising the students in class, ensuring they complete set tasks
* Delivering interventions
* Guiding students through the curriculum
* Managing behaviour
* Upholding school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies
