The Role


Join a highly respected law firm renowned for offering top-tier legal advice to both businesses and individuals. As the firm continues to expand and strengthen its offerings, they are seeking an experienced and skilled Costs Lawyer to further enhance their team of dedicated cost specialists.


In this role, you will be responsible for managing your own caseload, working closely with a team of cost experts to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients. Your key duties will include assessing and negotiating settlements for multi-track costs, drafting detailed cost budgets, and overseeing the full cost recovery process.


You will also play an integral part in formulating strategies to resolve complex cost disputes, ensuring that costs are recovered efficiently and effectively. Additionally, you will provide expert guidance to colleagues and clients on cost-related matters, supporting the firm’s ongoing success in managing costs across a diverse range of cases.

The Ideal Candidate:



  • Experienced Costs Lawyer with a proven ability to manage a caseload independently

  • Comprehensive knowledge of costs law and the Civil Procedure Rules

  • Strong track record in handling high-value costs cases

  • Skilled in drafting and managing cost budgets

  • Able to meet deadlines, prioritise effectively, and manage a varied caseload

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Strong legal insight and leadership skills, with a keen eye for detail

  • Excellent organisational, time-management, communication, and interpersonal abilities
