We are looking for a Senior Paralegal to join our Litigation Services Team, in either Leeds or Norwich.
The role
This is an exciting new role which would sit in our Litigation Services Team (“LST”) reporting to Gemma Richardson, the firm's Document Review Manager. You will have the full support and supervision of both the Head of Legal Operations, Jodie Hosmer and Gemma Richardson.
The LST Provides Litigation Support To The Whole Firm, On All Contentious Work And In Some Specialist Areas. Team Members Are Trained, Supervised And Supported By Lawyers With a Range Of Experience In Disputes Work. It Provides High-quality And Efficient Legal Support, Including In The Following Areas
You will work closely with the Document Review Manager, Gemma Richardson to support with the litigated, regulatory and investigatory review work carried out by the LST, leading on reviews, supporting with quality assurance, managing the productivity of work carried out by the LST and the document review deadlines.
You will also conduct work for the other LST workstreams ensuring compliance with deadlines and producing high quality work for all the firm's National Service Lines (“NSL'S”) and sectors.
The firm sees growth opportunities for the LST, recently appointing a Document Review Manager and Senior Costs Manager. This role is an exciting one, where you can be part of something progressive and you will be involved in supervising, supporting and developing the junior members of the LST.

The role

Team Members Are Trained, Supervised And Supported By Lawyers With a Range Of Experience In Disputes Work. It Provides High-quality And Efficient Legal Support, Including In The Following Areas
- Litigation support, including disclosure and document production and e-disclosure; locating and instructing experts, mediators and counsel
- Costs support, including preparation of statements of costs, precedent H budgets; costs assessment and negotiation
- Document and information preparation, organisation and review – preparation of chronologies and bundles; pagination and indexing of documents; review of documents for relevance to a particular matter and redaction of disclosable documents
- Debt recovery and insolvency support, principally undefended
- Data Subject Access Requests, including document review, redaction and extraction
- Court of Protection applications
- Internal secondments to disputes teams

You Will Be Working With And Supporting The Head Of Legal Operations And The Document Review Manager. It Is Envisaged Activities Will Include, But Not Be Limited To The Below
- Lead, manage and supervise the workstreams in the LST to ensure compliance with all stakeholders, instructing lawyer and client deadlines.
- Lead and manage document review projects (including evidence gathering, investigations and inquiries, and formal disclosure within court or arbitration proceedings) from inception to completion, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
- Coordinate with legal teams to understand case requirements and objectives.
- Supervising the Paralegals and Paralegal Apprentices reviewing their work to ensure compliance with all deadlines and that high quality work is produced.
- Conduct training on new workstreams.
- Support with business development, the LST roadshows and growing the LST.
- Consider and offer new perspectives to the way in which the LST deliver services to all NSLs and clients.
- Drafting Playbooks.
- Seeking out and evaluating new technologies that can be applied to legal services.
- Attending client meetings and meetings with NSLs as appropriate
- Design and implement innovative legal process solutions to streamline operations and reduce cost.
- Provide training and support on new workstreams.
- Collaborate with teams to identify process improvement opportunities.
