This is an exciting role working within the George Home Textiles team. You will be responsible for the delivering the Filled bedding offer, this is a key category within the General Merchandise offer & features heavily within promotional activity.


Maximising sales and profit is key, whilst ensuring availability and customer choice at the same time. This role is very fast paced, high profile and a great development opportunity to work across various stakeholders. You need to act fast and react accordingly to manage performance across multiple fixed buys.


The ins and outs

  • Working directly with Buyer to set the category strategy.

  • Delivering the business plan - working on longer term strategy and shorter-term proactive sales driving activity.

  • Driving the business to maximize profit in-season.

  • Developing strong relationships with suppliers.

  • Managing multiple stakeholders across the business to ensure we hold everyone accountable for the delivery of the crit path

  • Managing multiple event critical paths to ensure seamless launch of activity

  • Ownership of category P&L to include accurate forecasting of sales, stock turn, markdown and costs, with a view to achieve maximum profit.

  • Analysis of sales data to provide recommendations for range control, budgeting & selection for future seasons.

  • Collaboration with supply colleagues to ensure strong inventory management.

  • Working closely with the buying team to further understand our customer needs and competitor activity

  • This is a fast-paced role, and the ability to switch between longer term strategy and immediate trading priorities is key.

  • This role includes multiple key trading moments where you will be required to communicate to the broader business and manage expectations around performance.
