About the Role


My client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounts Payable & Control Team Leader to join their dynamic finance team. In this key role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable and Control teams, driving continuous improvement and ensuring operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable and Control teams, providing guidance and support.

  • Prepare input for the VAT return, ensuring accurate and timely submission.

  • Oversee payment practices reporting and prepare MI on key AP/control metrics.

  • Maintain a robust control environment across all Accounts Payable and Control team functions.

  • Manage direct reports and conduct performance reviews.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing information and assistance as required.

  • Collaborate with the systems team to identify and implement process improvement and automation initiatives.

  • Work closely with the tax team to streamline processes and ensure accurate tax data capture at source.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience:



  • Proven experience leading and managing a team within a finance function.

  • Strong understanding of finance principles and data analysis.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues at all levels.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively and work autonomously.

  • Confident in challenging processes and escalating issues when necessary.

  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement practical solutions.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work.

  • Highly motivated and results-oriented with a proactive approach to work.

  • Excellent relationship-building and collaboration skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

  • A strong understanding of industry best practices and emerging trends in accounts payable and control.

  • Ability to consolidate and present complex information in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
