We are thrilled to announce a fixed term contract opportunity for a Financial Modelling Manager to join our team in Financial Modelling. In this role, you’ll build and maintain Asset and Liability Management (ALM) models as well as models used for planning and pricing across Finance.


The role is available for either - 3 months full time (35 hours per week) or 6 months part time (17.5 hours per week)


This is backfill for project work, so the role may be tailored to the successful candidate's interests within the Financial Modelling team. It’s an exciting time to join, as the Society embarks on an ambitious growth plan, Financial Modelling will be at the heart of enabling that growth through transforming the Finance Modelling landscape.


This is a hybrid role; remote working and a small amount of onsite presence in our central Leeds office.


About the role


As Financial Modelling Manager, you’ll -



  • Design, develop and deliver new models or model redevelopments to support the Society’s Finance teams (including ALM, financial planning and pricing)


  • Ensure robust controls and comprehensive documentation exists


  • Work with the users to support appropriate model use and understanding of controls



About you


What will you bring to the role?



  • Proven experience working with ALM models within financial services and forecasting the balance sheet including knowledge of treasury instruments used by financial institutions to manage interest rate risk


  • Proven experience of data manipulation and modelling using SQL, Excel and other tools


  • Strong communication, engagement and influencing skills - demonstrating the ability to engage at all levels



Desirable skills include



  • Knowledge of Treasury Management Systems such as Murex


  • Experience of using Python, VBA or other forecasting software


  • Knowledge of balance sheet risk metrics and how to model these


  • Broader knowledge of financial services and the building society business model
