We are excited to be recruiting for a growing client of ours. This organisation, a construction company that refurbishes commercial properties into residential properties. Is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team. If you have a background in finance and property, this could be the position for you.

The Role

This Accounts Assistant will be handling the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Construction industry experience is essential, as well as proficiency in Xero, CIS (Construction Industry Scheme), and VAT.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing invoices, payments, and reconciliations using Xero
• Managing CIS submissions and ensuring compliance
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Assisting with payroll and subcontractor payments
• Monitoring accounts payable and receivable
• Supporting the finance team with general bookkeeping and reporting
• Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and HMRC regarding financial queries
• Assisting in month-end financial reporting and reconciliations

Requirements of an Accounts Assistant

• Essential: Experience working in the construction industry
• Proficient in Xero accounting software
• Strong knowledge of CIS and VAT processes
• Experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and financial administration
