Lead Network Engineer Responsibilities



  • Design, implement, and support scalable and resilient network infrastructure


  • Ensure network availability, performance, and security across a global landscape


  • Lead technical decision-making and architecture reviews within the network domain


  • Automate operational tasks using tools like Ansible and scripting languages such as Python


  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex network issues and incidents


  • Collaborate closely with platform, infrastructure, and security teams to align network services


  • Review and improve monitoring, logging, and alerting across all environments


  • Define best practices and mentor other engineers, contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing



Lead Network Engineer Requirements



  • Deep understanding of enterprise networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.)


  • Proven experience in network design, routing, switching, and load balancing


  • Strong knowledge of network security including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention


  • Experience in large-scale, cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI)


  • Proficient in automation and scripting (Ansible, Python, or similar)


  • Hands-on experience with metrics, monitoring tools, and alerting frameworks


  • Confident communicator with a collaborative mindset and problem-solving attitude


  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and mentor technical teams
