The Bid Team at RSM is a key part of the Marketing and Business Development team and is responsible for leading, project managing and delivering a significant proportion of bids across all service lines. They are there to ensure we are bidding for the right opportunities and maximising our chances of success to drive profitable revenue growth.


RSM are looking for a Bid Writer, predominantly to focus on the public sector. You will play a pivotal role in securing new business opportunities and expanding RSM's presence on key government and public sector frameworks. Your responsibilities will include writing, editing, and coordinating bid content from various stakeholders, ensuring timely and effective bid completion. This role requires working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.


You will create high-quality bid responses that help retain and win new business, ensuring submissions are persuasive well-structured, and aligned with client needs and evaluation criteria to maximise scoring. You will lead critical business submissions, collaborate with operational and commercial teams, and develop winning strategies for business growth. Additionally, you will help to develop team members on best practice writing skills.


You'll make an impact by:


  • Reviewing, editing and re-engineering content authored by others to build compelling responses with the aim of scoring maximum points
  • Analysing the RFP/bid requirements against the proposal outline to ensure both compliance and responsiveness to the customer's issues and needs
  • Generating new bid content based on research, engagement across the business and use of company information
  • Reviewing and analysing post-bid feedback to improve the tender library answers to assist with future bids
  • Scheduling and leading storyboarding sessions for relevant tender opportunities
  • Supporting the bid team with bid style guides, boilerplate content, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Experience of writing effective, concise content and editing content to ensure accuracy, consistency and readability
  • Proven success in managing the end-to-end bid lifecycle and driving continuous improvement.
  • Reasonable understanding of public sector procurement processes and government/public sector frameworks (ie CCS, NHS SBS, EOECPH, G-Cloud).
  • Ability to translate technical and operational insights into compelling narrative responses.
  • Strong project management skills, ensuring bid deadlines are met with high-quality outputs
