Cloud Director – Sales Leadership - Private Sector

At KPMG, you will bring your industry knowledge and technology experience to map customer business challenges to on-premise and cloud technology solutions, shape end-to-end transformational journeys, and deliver real business value to our key Corporate clients. In this role, you will be part of some very exciting client engagements, lead pre-sales activities/proposals, and be responsible for delivering our portfolio of technology solutions, whilst maintaining deep executive-level client relationships.


As part of this leadership role, you will also inherently lead our brilliant teams, coach and mentor junior members, and contribute to our overall go-to-market activities by building the KPMG brand and being visible as a leading advisor within our clients, the market, and our alliance partners.


The Cloud Director role will have the following responsibilities:

  • Be visible and recognized as an expert in cloud transformation (including Hybrid & Multi-cloud) by the market and alliance partners alike.

  • Contribute to developing our financial services market growth in cloud transformation, with market-facing propositions and assets, building both the KPMG and your personal brand.

  • Build close working relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite leaders at our financial services clients, focusing on business challenges, opportunities, cloud transformation, and their end-to-end technology journey.

  • Lead business development opportunities in the financial services market through shaping and selling complex, multi-stakeholder advisory and implementation services around cloud transformation.

  • Organize, monitor, and lead programme delivery, outcomes, and resources in large transformation programmes.

  • Design and build roadmaps, implementation strategies, transformation plans, and high-quality assets targeting cloud solutions, collaborating with delivery managers, sales colleagues, and senior customer stakeholders.

  • Contribute to our wider capability group by developing new services and nurturing our people.


The Person

  • Excellence in consulting skills, with the ability to present complex solutions to business executives. Previous experience in a large consulting organization is a plus.

  • Proven business development experience, leading client proposals and RFPs for cloud transformation and migration projects.

  • Ability to build deep trusted advisor relationships with C-level client stakeholders to guide their cloud journey.

  • Experience with application migrations, including target selection, infrastructure sizing, costing, and familiarity with leading migration tools.

  • Knowledge of at least one: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, microservices, APIs, containers, cloud data models, cloud integration, and migration patterns like rehost, refactor, rearchitect.

  • Experience working in regulated environments and understanding operational resilience best practices.

  • Track record of leading advisory engagements in large-scale cloud transformation and migration.

  • Broad understanding of infrastructure, network, database, cloud operating models, risks, controls, security, DevOps, Agile, and cloud testing for platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google.

  • Ability to shape long-term, complex, large-scale cloud journeys encompassing a full range of cloud capabilities.

  • History of exceeding sales and profitability targets in a consulting environment.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to inspire teams and develop client relationships.

  • Growth mindset for business development and influencing senior stakeholders.

  • Collaborative working style with clients and teams.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

  • Team player, thriving in diverse cultures.
