Access and Assessment Team Support Worker (Female*)
Leeds Women's Aid

It’s all about making a difference.

We are seeking a passionate and empathetic Access & Assessment Team (AAT) Support Worker. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality trauma-informed support to victim-survivors of domestic abuse, including emotional support, risk assessment, safety planning, and signposting.

AAT is the first point of contact for Leeds Domestic Violence Service for individuals experiencing domestic abuse. The team works with victim-survivors, conducting risk assessments, and developing support and safety plans. AAT also serves as the initial contact for professionals seeking referrals, support, or advice regarding victim-survivors.

You will need:

  • Experience working in an advisory or support role

  • A good understanding of the impact of domestic violence and abuse on victim-survivors, children, and their families

  • The ability to handle stressful and difficult situations under pressure

Leeds Women’s Aid (LWA) is the largest women’s charitable organization in Leeds, providing services for victims of domestic abuse, honour-based violence, forced marriage, stalking, and harassment. It is the lead agency for two consortia: Leeds Domestic Violence Service and Women and Girls Alliance.

The closing date for applications is Monday, 2nd June. The interview date is Tuesday, 10th June.

LWA is fully committed to equality of opportunity, welcoming applications from all community sections. While LWA is a diverse and inclusive organization, we particularly encourage applications from women of Black, Asian, or Minoritized Ethnic communities, who are currently underrepresented at senior levels.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk. All staff are expected to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required before employment.

*Posts are open to women only (Exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1).
