Whilst our 850 strong team of veterinary professionals are out in the field ensuring animal welfare standards are met within the UK and that the meat is safe to enter the food chain, we have a team of 60 Central Support heroes back at our Leeds head office that cover the central support functions.
Are you a confident HR professional with a passion for employee relations? Were looking for an experiencedEmployee Relations Advisorto join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. In this pivotal role, youll provide expert ER advice and guidance across the business, ensuring best practice and compliance with current legislation.
About The Role
As an Employee Relations Advisor, youll be the go-to expert for all ER matters, supporting line managers and key stakeholders with practical, solution-focused advice. Youll manage a variety of ER cases and play a key role in fostering a positive and productive working environment.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence management.
- Manage ER cases from start to finish, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Build strong relationships across the business to promote a culture of trust, fairness, and open communication.
- Coach and support managers to handle people issues confidently and in line with company policies and employment law.
- Respond to policy-related queries and support the implementation of people-related projects.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of ER processes and practices.
- Proven experience in managing a wide range of ER cases.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to influence and build rapport at all levels.
- A proactive, organised, and resilient approach with the ability to work at pace.
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for delivering great service.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
- Personable, approachable, and confident in dealing with sensitive issues.
- A natural problem-solver with a practical, logical mindset.
- Self-motivated and able to manage your own workload effectively.
- Committed to continuous improvement and professional development.

- Pro rata to Salary £30,000 - £35,000pa
