Department Context

Sitting within Enterprise Technology, Product Engineering is responsible for developing high-quality software products for customers of Cox Automotive Europe.

Our team are responsible for the development and maintenance of multiple systems across the UK and European Wholesale division.

We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative and challenging work environment that encourages professional growth and creativity and are currently seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join our talented team.

Your primary role will involve working within the Manheim Vehicle Services business. MVS is a mass vehicle preparation and storage business with three core sites around the Midlands area. The business processes 200k+ vehicles a year for Manufacturers, Finance and Rental businesses.

Scope of Role

As a Senior Test Engineer, you will play a role within our Product Engineering team, responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test strategies.

Your expertise will be crucial in guaranteeing quality, performance, and reliability of our software products. If you are passionate about test automation and thrive in a collaborative, innovative environment, we want to hear from you.

Objectives for Role

  • Develop and implement test strategies that align with product requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, goals and to define testing milestones.
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test cases to verify software functionality and performance.
  • Perform exploratory testing where required, whilst seeking to automate all use cases.
  • Conduct thorough regression testing to ensure the stability of software releases.
  • Leverage automation tools and frameworks to streamline repetitive testing tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Work on the continuous improvement of test automation practices and frameworks.
  • Investigate, analyse, and document software defects, working closely with development teams to facilitate timely resolutions.
  • Provide detailed and actionable feedback to development teams to enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality products.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings to contribute to the overall development and testing process.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior test engineers.
  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the testing team.
