Senior Accounts Payable Clerk - Professional Services

Location: Leeds (Hybrid Working)

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting for a Senior Accounts Payable Clerk to join a well-established professional services firm based in Leeds. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work in a high-performing finance team, contributing to the ongoing development and efficiency of the Accounts Payable function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Accounts Payable Team Leader in identifying and implementing process improvements across the AP function.
  • Accurately process supplier invoices, staff expenses, and disbursements, ensuring compliance with internal controls and procedures.
  • Handle complex and high-volume queries, working collaboratively with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliation tasks.
  • Act as a point of escalation for the team and contribute to training and mentoring junior colleagues.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an Accounts Payable role, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of disbursements and their application within AP processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Competence in using financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
