With 6+ years’ experience within the industry, our client (Experts in onsite power generation) is developing an enviable reputation as a leading engineering company, utilising state of the art CHP (Combined Heat & Power) Systems to produce reliable power at approximately 50% less than the cost of grid electricity. By designing and implementing bespoke energy solutions that empower businesses to reduce their carbon footprint whilst maximising profit & efficiency, they provide continuous and ongoing support to their client base as a one stop shop.
The business has achieved steady YOY growth across the UK and have recently won a £10 Million order book of projects through its market potential and business strategy which will increase its presence in the industry.
They are involved in various project types including sustainability, battery storage, CHP. Solar, and cooling systems. These tend to be on industrial sites, manufacturing facilities, hospitals, hotels, wastewater treatment plants, and factories.
Role
Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer with expertise in CHP (Combined Heat & Power) maintenance and servicing? Do you thrive in a hands-on role that involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and maintaining CHP systems? If you have MAN engine experience, this is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established energy company providing cutting-edge CHP solutions to a diverse range of industries.As a Field Service Engineer, you will be a key part of the UK Maintenance Team, ensuring the reliable operation of CHP generator sets and balance-of-plant equipment at client sites. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with experience in CHP systems, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical maintenance, looking to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for someone to:
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving electrical and mechanical issues on CHP generator sets and related equipment
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, including minor and major overhauls
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems, using appropriate troubleshooting tools and techniques
- Service and maintain MAN engines and other CHP systems
- Assist the management team in establishing parts and labour estimates for repairs
- Maintain service vehicle stock, ensuring necessary tools, parts, and equipment are available
- Prepare and submit detailed service reports after each site visit
- Ensure the clean and safe operation of the plant, following health and safety regulations
- Provide technical expertise and support to clients, ensuring their CHP systems operate efficiently
- Proactively review and order materials required for maintenance work
- Be available for on-call work and emergency maintenance tasks
Experience
- Experience working with MAN CHP engines is highly desirable
- 3-5 years of experience in maintenance, servicing, or troubleshooting of CHP systems
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical schematics
- Experience with engines, hydraulic systems, and troubleshooting tools
- Ability to work independently, with proactive and problem-solving mindset
- Flexibility to travel to client sites and work on-call when required
- Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering high-quality service
Package / Remuneration:
The remuneration package offered at this stage is subject to the experience of the candidate, but will likely include the following:
Basic Salary: Between £45,000 - £55,000
Company Car: Company vehicle
