Overview

We are currently recruiting a Finishing Manager to join the delivery team on a flagship £45 million, 18-storey residential development in the heart of Leeds. This is a landmark scheme forming part of a major urban regeneration programme that is reshaping the city's skyline.

The ideal candidate will have a strong finishing trade background and be experienced in delivering high-quality internal fit-outs on high-rise or large commercial projects. This is a great opportunity to join a top-tier team on a complex, city-centre build.

The Role

As Finishing Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the internal fit-out works across several floors, managing multiple subcontract trades, and ensuring a smooth and timely handover. You'll report directly to the Sector Manager and Project Manager, playing a vital role in delivering a high-quality finished product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage finishing trades (e.g. drylining, joinery, flooring, painting, M&E final fix, etc.)
  • Ensure the internal works are delivered to quality standards and within the programme schedule
  • Manage snagging, quality assurance, and handover processes
  • Monitor on-site safety and ensure compliance with H&S regulations
  • Maintain clear communication with site team, subcontractors, and project leadership
  • Support with inspections, sign-offs, and client walk-throughs
  • Proactively resolve on-site issues and keep work areas well-organised and productive

Requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience as a Finishing Manager on high-rise residential or commercial projects
  • Strong finishing trade background (e.g. joinery, drylining, interiors)
  • Strong understanding of build sequencing and managing internal packages to tight deadlines
  • Solid working knowledge of Health & Safety, QA, and compliance on busy construction sites
  • Excellent communication and team coordination skills
  • Able to work to programme, solve problems on the ground, and maintain high standards of workmanship

Certifications:

  • CSCS (Gold or above)
  • SMSTS or SSSTS
  • First Aid
