Job Description
About Smoothwall:
Child online safety is one of the most pressing concerns of the modern age. In their online lives children are exposed to all manner of risk including cyberbullying, grooming, sextortion, suicide ideation, atrocious content of all kinds and more.
Smoothwall is the UK’s number one digital safeguarding technology provider in UK education. 40% of schools use our solutions to help protect their students’ safety and wellbeing online.
Smoothwall is part of Qoria, an ASX listed, global child safeguarding technology company headquartered in Perth, Australia. With offices in California, North Carolina, Florida, Leeds, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Barcelona and Colombo, Sri Lanka, we are a global family with a shared mission to keep every child safe and thriving in their digital life.
29,000 schools and 7 million parents depend on our solutions to help keep 25 million children worldwide, better protected from online harm. We leverage the power of connection to close the gaps that children fall through and to provide seamless support for them and those who care for them, at school, at home, and everywhere in between.
About The Role
The UK Marketing Director is a pivotal role that ensures both pipe creation, and maintenance of our premium brand positioning in the education market. You will form part of the UK senior leadership team and report globally on your teams’ outputs and outcomes.
Reporting to the EVP Global Marketing and with plenty of opportunity for collaboration with them and with your two Marketing Director peers in North America and Asia Pacific (including in person once a year) you will lead the shaping and delivery of our UK go-to-market strategy.
About You
The role is ideal for a highly experienced and passionate, hands on demand generation marketer. You will be well versed in combining data and creativity to produce innovative campaigns that are compelling and persuasive to our different personas. Customer journeys, buying cycles and pipeline stages will all be familiar territories to you, as will a deep persona understanding that transcends basic product need into personal and emotional drivers.
Working with a team of 5 marketers, with a wordclass, inhouse design/video team, and with sales and CS colleagues you will be adept at engaging audiences through your various campaigns, and bringing them into and through the four stages of pipe.
You will be a strong empath and a people person but with a love of data, all of which you will draw on to influence our audiences and achieve commercial goals.
This role is ideal for anyone wanting to advance their marketing career with purpose and to make a positive contribution to a global issue affecting the health and safety of children everywhere.
Key Responsibilities
Pipe creation:
With support from our inhouse design agency, external PR agency, product marketing team and your own marketing team, you will set strategy across the full communications mix for lead growth including paid, shared, owned and trusted social media, website and SEO/AIO and blogs, articles, video, webinars, events, PR, DM and EDM and manage this across always on, targeted, timebound initiatives as well as ABM campaigns and nurture sequences.
You will measure all four stages of pipe daily and report fortnightly to the EVP Global Marketing and monthly in person at senior leadership meetings.
Audience Engagement
You will quickly develop a deep persona understanding that transcends superficial needs and wants to deeply guide your campaigns and create maximum resonance.
You will constantly be on the look out for new and innovative pathways for audience engagement and efficiencies, including in progressive AI.
Brand Development
You will help maintain Smoothwall’s premium brand position by ensuring high quality communications that reflect our human, caring, ‘safe hands’ and authentic brand values.
Your work will guide, empower, inspire and ultimately compel our audiences to engage with us.
Market Knowledge
Develop and maintain an excellent understanding of the UK digital safety market including competitors and statutory guidance to schools and help define our responses to these.
Sales/Marketing Alignment
You will build strong and productive relationships with your Sales and CS colleagues, harvesting front line intelligence on audience and competitor behaviours and providing effective sales enablement tools to facilitate their articulation of key functionalities and associated benefits.
Team Leadership
Direct and mentor a team of 5 marketers to ensure tasks are completed on time and to standard. Support them in their development as marketers and in their career aspirations where possible.
Budget
Manage the marketing budget including quarterly reports.
Requirements
If you are passionate about marketing and want to make a difference in children's lives, we’d love to hear from you. Please send your resume and a cover letter evidencing why you think you would succeed in this role
