Macgregor Black is proud to be partnering with a fast-growing Consumer Goods business on the search for an Operations Director. This is a permanent role based in Leeds, designed for a visionary leader ready to shape the next chapter of international expansion and operational excellence.

As Operations Director, you will assume full strategic and operational responsibility for the global supply chain, procurement, logistics, and international infrastructure. This is a board-level leadership role for a commercially astute operator with a proven ability to build global networks, lead cross-functional teams, and deliver scalable solutions in high-growth environments.

You will play a critical role in aligning operational capability with long-term business objectives, driving efficiency, resilience, and global reach across the value chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and execute the global operations strategy in alignment with the company’s growth trajectory


• Lead sourcing and procurement strategy, with a proven emphasis on supplier management and sourcing from China


• Oversee the successful establishment and optimisation of international warehousing and distribution hubs


• Direct all areas of operations including supply chain, manufacturing partnerships, logistics, quality, and compliance


• Work closely with the board to inform and deliver against strategic commercial goals


• Build a world-class operations team, instilling a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement


• Implement scalable systems and processes to support growth into new markets and categories


• Lead change management initiatives and digital transformation of operational systems (ERP, automation, etc.)


• Maintain a deep understanding of global trade, logistics regulations, and risk mitigation

What are we looking for?

• Experience at Managing Director, COO, or senior executive level within a consumer goods environment


• Deep expertise in sourcing and supplier management in China


• Demonstrated success in launching international warehousing/logistics operations


• Track record of scaling operational functions in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting


• Inspirational leader with a strong grasp of people, performance, and strategic development


• Commercially savvy with the ability to bridge operations and revenue growth


• Strong stakeholder management and board-level reporting experience


• Willingness to travel internationally and work across time zones
