Senior Shopify Developer

Team Responsibilities

• Be an active, motivated, and inspired member of the team.
• Assist in continuously updating our processes, based on feedback and industry changes
• Build and manage relationships with internal teams.
• Respect your multi-disciplinary teammates
• Attending meetings on time, when required
• Maintaining a full understanding of company processes, policies, guidelines and contractual obligations and ensuring these are consistently followed.
• Track time daily through Timesheets, where required
  
  

Technical Leadership

• Clearly communicate technical solutions to team members
• Mentor and coach peers on technical aspects of the Shopify platform, relevant processes and any other development related issues that ensures successful delivery of projects
• Assisting in training up the internal teams on any new technologies / software we have developed
• Providing technical leadership for development projects within IDHL, providing advice and guidance to other developers
• Delivery of all stages of the development lifecycle, from requirements capture through to release and maintenance
• Ensuring all code is written to an exceptionally high standard, well documented and maintainable for future use
• Assist in mentoring and coaching more junior team members in any learning or upskilling they require
• Keeping up to date with all new Shopify innovations and eCommerce trends, best practices in Shopify development and latest Shopify products
• Lead the development of comprehensive e-commerce solutions on Shopify
• Assisting in training internal teams on any new technologies / software we have developed
• Be accountable for delivery of all stages of the development lifecycle, from requirements capture through to release and maintenance
  
  

Project Planning And Delivery

• Work as part of the team to plan and deliver the development aspect of client projects
• Build responsive websites and web applications using latest our techniques and technologies
• Browser and device testing all your work
• Work closely with our Designers to translate design prototypes into fully functional websites and web applications
• Play an active team role in stand up, backlog refinement, sprint retrospective and planning
• Commit with the team to delivering work during the project time frame
• Flag any blockers to the PMs/AMs and work as a team to resolve
• Working with the project team to architect eloquent solutions to complex problems, gather requirements, write functional specification documents and implement these in a structured and timely manner
• Ensure deliverables meet business requirements
  
  

Technical Expertise And Quality

• Stay up to date with best practices in Shopify theme development and latest Shopify products
• Review code to ensure code quality, adherence to best practices, and maintainability
• Create technical documentation where required
• Contribute to the development of new features and components based on the UA principles, enhancing the team's ability to deliver high-quality themes efficiently
• Maintain a high skill level of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Liquid and other technologies used to deliver projects
