Overview
We are working with a university who are seeking a Senior Funding Analyst to play a key role in delivering their brand-new Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) programme.
This is a high-impact, project-focused opportunity where you will lead the design and implementation of a new funding processes, ensuring the university is fully prepared for the LLE rollout. You will sit at the centre of data, funding, systems, and regulation, working across multiple teams to translate policy into operational delivery.
Essential Skills and experience
- Higher Education experience, specifically within student records and/or funding administration
- Strong knowledge of tuition fee regulations and HE funding (e.g. SLC), with the ability to interpret policy into operational processes
- Advanced data analysis and manipulation skills, particularly using Excel or similar tools
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including working with IT, Finance, Registry
Desirable skills and Experience
- Experience using Alteryx or similar advanced data transformation tools
- Experience with student record systems (e.g. Banner, Ellucian)
- Direct experience working with or submitting data to the Student Loans Company (SLC)
- Experience managing or working closely with IT system suppliers / vendors
- Exposure to project management methodologies and structured delivery approaches
- Experience representing your organisation in sector groups, forums, or external working groups
Essential Interpersonal Skills
- A self-starter - Need someone who can spot problems, raise them, and act independently rather than waiting for direction.
- Practical and analytical - strong analyst/operator who can contribute inside an established project structure.
- Flexible - Someone able to work to an aggressive timeline and prioritise core requirements and get things over the line.
- Strong communication - Not just a back-office analyst, but someone happy to get involved in wider university conversations and effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
Key Projects:
- Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) Implementation
- End-to-end delivery of new funding processes for LLE
- Translating government policy into operational workflows and system rules
- Working to a tight deadline with high regulatory scrutiny
- Funding Process Redesign
- Redesigning tuition fee and student finance processes to ensure: Accuracy of funding calculations, compliance with evolving regulations, improving efficiency and scalability of processes
- Data Flow & System Configuration Projects
- Designing and implementing: Data flows between systems (student systems, finance systems, SLC)
- System rules and configurations to support funding processes
- Ensuring alignment across multiple platforms and teams
