Distinct Recruitment

If you're an experienced Corporate Tax Senior Manager looking for something beyond the traditional practice environment, this is an opportunity to join a fast-growing, technology-led professional services business that's investing heavily in its UK tax capability.

I'm working exclusively with a market-leading organisation that supports a broad portfolio of UK and international clients with outsourced tax and finance solutions. The business has experienced significant growth, continues to invest in technology and AI, and offers genuine exposure to complex advisory work alongside compliance.

This is a role where you'll combine technical expertise, client relationship management and project leadership, working with high-profile businesses on a wide range of UK corporate tax matters.

The Opportunity

Working alongside experienced tax professionals, you'll advise on complex UK corporate tax matters, help shape best practice across the function and play a key role in developing processes through automation and emerging technologies.

Alongside day-to-day client work, you'll have exposure to areas including:

  • UK Corporate Tax compliance
  • Tax accounting under UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP
  • Pillar Two implementation
  • Senior Accounting Officer (SAO)
  • Transfer pricing
  • Large corporate transactions and restructuring projects

What you'll be doing

  • Managing relationships for a portfolio of UK corporate tax clients.
  • Providing technical oversight of UK corporation tax returns.
  • Supporting tax accounting and quarterly/year-end provisioning processes.
  • Advising clients on complex technical tax matters and ensuring appropriate documentation.
  • Leading and supporting Pillar Two reporting projects.
  • Working closely with internal teams to improve efficiency, automation and the use of technology, including AI.
  • Managing projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
  • Delivering technical training and sharing knowledge across the wider tax function.
  • Building strong relationships with clients and senior internal stakeholders.

About you

You'll likely be ACA and/or CTA qualified with strong UK corporate tax experience gained in practice, industry or an outsourced tax environment.

You'll also bring:

  • Around 8+ years' experience in UK Corporate Tax.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation.
  • Experience of tax accounting under UK GAAP and IFRS (US GAAP exposure would be advantageous).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience using systems such as SAP, Oracle or Hyperion would be beneficial.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • An interest in process improvement, technology and AI within tax.
  • A proactive, commercial approach with the confidence to lead client relationships.

What's on offer?

  • Competitive salary.
  • 15% bonus.
  • Hybrid working.
  • 25 days' annual leave, plus the option to buy an additional five days.
  • Up to 10% matched pension contribution.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Critical illness cover.
  • Dental insurance.
  • Wellbeing support including access to the Calm app.
  • Excellent learning and development opportunities.
  • The chance to join a growing, innovative business where tax is viewed as a genuine value-add function rather than simply a compliance requirement.
