Financial Controller - #2122850

This is a broad role based on the outskirts of central leeds combining financial control, commercial finance and business partnering. You will lead a small finance team while working closely with senior management and operational stakeholders to provide accurate reporting, robust financial controls and meaningful commercial insight.

The position would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys operating close to the business and wants a role with genuine scope to influence performance, improve processes and develop the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of management accounts, KPI reporting and financial analysis
• Maintain ownership of the balance sheet and P&L
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning across the business
• Provide commercial analysis and insight to support senior management decision making
• Partner with operational stakeholders to understand performance, identify risks and opportunities and improve profitability
• Oversee financial performance across business activities, including revenue, costs, margins and WIP
• Review budgets and forecasts challenging assumptions and providing clear performance commentary
• Manage working capital, cash flow and debt management activities
• Support statutory reporting requirements and the external audit process
• Drive improvements across finance systems, reporting, controls and processes

About You
You will be a qualified accountant with a strong financial control background and the ability to combine technical accounting with commercial insight.

Ideally you will have:

• ACCA or CIMA qualification with relevant post qualified experience
• Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience
• Experience working within a commercially focused environment with multiple revenue streams
• Strong financial control and balance sheet management experience
• The ability to interpret financial information and communicate it effectively to non finance stakeholders
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting and ERP systems
• Previous experience managing and developing a finance team
• A proactive approach to improving reporting, processes and financial controls

Salary: Circa £70,000 plus benefits
