Contract: Temporary Assignment - 2 Weeks
Leeds City Council are looking for two Warehouse Assistants to support Assisted Living Leeds during an important site relocation project. This is an excellent short-term opportunity for reliable, hardworking individuals with warehouse experience who enjoy working as part of a busy team.
The successful candidates will initially be based at Assisted Living Leeds, Clarence Road, LS10 1LB, but will also be required to work at the new location at Waterside Industrial Park, Waterside Road, Leeds, LS10 1RW as the service relocates.
You will provide essential warehouse and stock management support to Leeds Community Equipment Services, helping ensure equipment is received, stored, assembled, prepared and distributed efficiently while maintaining a professional and customer-focused service.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Picking and preparing equipment for delivery.
- Preparing equipment for collection by assessors, service users and families.
- Receiving, checking and distributing stock.
- Carrying out stock checks and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Using computer systems and paperwork to track stock movement and equipment.
- Basic assembly of equipment using manufacturer instructions.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment.
- Supporting the service during the site relocation.
- Ensuring all health, safety and fire procedures are followed.
- Providing limited telephone and face-to-face support to service users, carers and colleagues.
- Maintaining accurate records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Working independently while contributing positively to the wider team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous warehouse, stores or stock control experience.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to carry out manual handling duties safely.
- Comfortable using basic IT systems and completing paperwork accurately.
- Strong team-working skills with a professional attitude.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to health and safety procedures.
- A UK driving licence is desirable.
- Forklift experience is advantageous, although not essential.
