Ready to take the lead in developing a team of professional drivers and play a key role in keeping a major UK supply chain safe, compliant, and performing at its best? Could you use your driver training expertise to coach, inspire, and elevate driving standards across a fast-paced, nationally recognised logistics operation?

Here at GXO, we have an opportunity to join us as Driver Training Manager, to join our Sherburn-in-Elmet team for our customer Sainsburys. You'll take the lead in developing and supporting our professional driving team, delivering training programmes, driving compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture. Working closely with Transport, Health & Safety, HR, and customer stakeholders, you'll play a key role in improving driver performance, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring regulatory excellence across a busy and dynamic logistics environment.

This is a full time, permanent position based on site in Sherburn-in-Elmet. Working Monday to Friday with start times flexing between 16:00 to 24:00 and 18:00 to 02:00 (flexibility required for business needs).

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Deliver engaging driver inductions, assessments, training, and Driver CPC programmes to develop and maintain a high-performing driving team
• Ensure full compliance with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive, DVSA regulations, and Operator Licence requirements
• Monitor driver performance, identify development opportunities, and provide coaching to continuously improve safety and operational standards
• Maintain accurate training and compliance records, produce performance KPIs, and support reporting requirements
• Partner with Transport, Health & Safety, HR, and customer teams to drive continuous improvement, investigate incidents, and implement corrective training solutions

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Proven experience delivering driver training within a transport or logistics environment
• Strong understanding of Driver CPC, Drivers' Hours, Working Time Regulations, and transport compliance requirements
• Full UK Category C+E driving licence, with excellent communication, coaching, and organisational skills
• Passionate about developing people, improving safety standards, and driving high performance
• Proactive, collaborative, and committed to continuous improvement, with teaching, assessing, or Driver CPC Instructor qualifications desirable
