About our Client

My client is a Building envelope specialist sub-contractor who works new build market. They work on projects up to £4million in value. They have an excellent reputation within this sector and are actively looking for a Planner to join their team.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for cladding and façade works.
      

• Review architectural, structural, and cladding drawings, specifications, and schedules.

      

• Prepare and evaluate Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and material take-offs.

      

• Obtain and compare quotations from cladding manufacturers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

      

•  Assist with procurement and subcontractor selection.

      

• Prepare and manage subcontract orders and contracts.

      

• Monitor project costs against budgets and identify potential cost overruns.

      

• Measure completed cladding works and prepare interim valuations and payment applications.

      

• Assess and manage variations, compensation events, and change orders.

      

• Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, and cash-flow projections.

      

• Manage subcontractor payments and valuations.

      

• Review and agree final accounts with subcontractors and clients.

      

• Identify and manage commercial risks associated with materials, labour, design changes, access, and programme delays.

      

• Assist with claims, extensions of time, and loss and expense where applicable.

      

• Liaise with project managers, site managers, designers, architects, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.

      

• Ensure commercial documentation and records are maintained accurately.

      

• Supportthe project team in achieving cost, quality, and programme targets.      

      About the Candidate  
  
  

• Degree/HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction, or a related discipline.

      

• Relevant experience in cladding, façades, envelope, or building     construction.

      

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts such as JCT, NEC, and/or bespoke subcontract agreements.

      

• Good understanding of measurement and valuation.

      

• Strong Excel and cost-management skills.

      

• Experience with estimating or measurement software is advantageous.

      

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

      

• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
