Utilities Manager | Developer & Construction Sector
A leading UK developer and construction business is looking to appoint a Utilities Manager to support a growing national development programme.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced utilities professional to join a well-established organisation delivering multiple projects simultaneously across the UK. You'll take ownership of utility connections and infrastructure strategies from initial site assessment and due diligence through to procurement, approvals and handover to operational teams.
Working across 20+ live developments as well as a substantial pipeline of future sites, you'll play a key role in ensuring utility requirements are delivered efficiently, commercially and in line with programme requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage all utility-related activities across multiple live and future developments.
• Undertake utility due diligence for prospective land acquisitions.
• Obtain utility searches, infrastructure reports and underground mapping surveys.
• Assess existing network capacity and identify viable connection strategies.
• Manage electricity, water, drainage, fibre and utility connection applications.
• Liaise directly with DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs, water authorities and fibre providers.
• Review utility quotations, designs and technical reports.
• Schedule and coordinate utility-related site meetings and installations.
• Manage G99 applications and associated approvals for renewable energy connections.
• Arrange meter installations and utility service activations.
• Submit drainage connection and Section 106 applications.
• Coordinate CCTV drainage surveys and report findings to internal stakeholders.
• Work closely with Development, Technical, Legal, Commercial, Finance and Construction teams.
• Raise purchase orders, review utility costs and authorise invoices.
• Maintain accurate trackers, programmes and utility records across the portfolio.
• Identify risks, opportunities and cost-saving measures throughout the development process.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Utilities Manager, Utilities Coordinator, Infrastructure Coordinator, Utility Connections or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of electricity infrastructure and HV/LV connections.
• Experience liaising with utility providers and network operators.
• Understanding of water, drainage and fibre connection processes.
• Ability to review technical information, utility reports and network designs.
• Strong commercial awareness and cost management experience.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Construction, development, housebuilding or infrastructure sector experience would be advantageous.
