Leeds | Hybrid Working
Competitive Salary + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits Package

Are you an experienced Transport Planning professional looking to take the next step in your career with a highly regarded independent consultancy?

I'm currently working with an award-winning transport planning and infrastructure consultancy that is continuing to grow its presence across the UK. Due to an expanding project portfolio and sustained business success, they are looking to appoint an Associate Director to join their Leeds office and play a key role in shaping both project delivery and the future growth of the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious transport planner seeking greater influence, leadership responsibility and a clear pathway towards senior leadership within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As Associate Director, you'll lead the delivery of a diverse range of development planning projects across residential, commercial, logistics, mixed-use, education and strategic land sectors. You'll work closely with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary teams, providing expert transport planning advice while supporting the development and growth of the Leeds office.

Alongside managing key client relationships and project delivery, you'll have the opportunity to mentor and develop junior staff, contribute to business development initiatives and play an active role in shaping the direction of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee transport planning projects from inception through to completion
  • Manage the preparation and review of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
  • Provide strategic transport advice to a broad range of private and public sector clients
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
  • Manage project budgets, resources and programme delivery
  • Support and mentor junior and intermediate members of the team
  • Attend client meetings, public consultations and stakeholder engagements
  • Contribute to business development, networking and winning new work
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple disciplines and regional offices

About You

To be considered, you will ideally have:

  • Extensive experience within transport planning consultancy
  • Strong development planning experience across a range of sectors
  • Excellent technical report writing and project management skills
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver commercial outcomes
  • Experience leading teams and developing junior professionals
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Relevant degree qualification in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Chartered status (CIHT, TPS, ICE or equivalent) desirable but not essential

What's on Offer?

  • Competitive salary and performance-related bonus
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
  • Clear progression route towards Director level
  • Exposure to a wide-ranging and high-profile project portfolio
  • Ongoing professional development and mentoring support
  • Collaborative and supportive company culture
  • Enhanced benefits package
  • Opportunity to play a key role in the growth of a successful Leeds-based team

If you're looking for the next step in your career, I'd be keen to discuss this opportunity in confidence.
