Associate Flood Risk Consultant

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

An established environmental consultancy is looking for an Associate Flood Risk Consultant to join its team in Leeds.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced flood risk professional to take on a senior role, lead projects and help develop client relationships, while supporting the growth of the wider team.

The Role

You will work across a varied portfolio of flood risk and drainage projects, supporting clients through planning and development. Responsibilities will include:

• Managing and delivering Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies.
• Overseeing surface water modelling, flood risk modelling and drainage design.
• Providing technical advice on flood risk, SuDS and planning requirements.
• Managing project budgets, programmes and client relationships.
• Liaising with the Environment Agency, local authorities, developers and other stakeholders.
• Reviewing technical reports and providing guidance to junior team members.
• Supporting business development, preparing fee proposals and identifying new opportunities.
• Helping develop the team and contributing to its continued growth.

About You

• Strong experience in flood risk consultancy, ideally at Senior or Associate level.
• A solid background in Flood Risk Assessments, drainage strategies and planning.
• Experience with hydraulic modelling software and GIS.
• Good knowledge of UK flood risk policy and relevant guidance.
• Confident managing projects and building client relationships.
• Experience mentoring junior colleagues and supporting business development.
