HVAC / VENTILATION ENGINEER
Leeds & West Yorkshire | £30,000–£38,000 + Company Vehicle | Excellent Progression Opportunities
Ready to take your HVAC career to the next level?
Looking for a role where you can work on varied projects, be part of a growing team and build a long-term career beyond simply being on the tools?
We’re recruiting an experienced HVAC / Ventilation Engineer to join the expanding HVAC division of an established, independent M&E contractor based in Leeds.
With 237+ projects delivered, 85% repeat business and an exciting pipeline of work, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that’s growing for the right reasons — and wants its people to grow with it.
WHAT WILL YOU BE WORKING ON?
This is a hands-on installation role offering plenty of variety across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and residential projects.
You’ll be installing and fabricating ductwork systems, working alongside experienced HVAC professionals and collaborating with plumbers, electricians and other trades to deliver high-quality installations.
Current projects include commercial office developments, specialist sports facilities, apartment refurbishments and large-scale developments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing plastic and galvanised metal ductwork systems.
- Working with extract, supply, MVHR, VRF and general ventilation systems.
- Reading mechanical drawings, measuring, setting out and accurately fitting ductwork.
- Installing ductwork supports, dampers, grilles, diffusers and associated components.
- Coordinating with other trades to ensure installations run smoothly.
- Supporting HVAC equipment installation, testing and commissioning activities.
- Maintaining excellent standards of workmanship, health and safety.
Most projects are across Leeds and West Yorkshire, with occasional nationwide work and stays away of up to six weeks.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
This opportunity offers much more than just a salary:
£30,000–£38,000 per annum, depending on experience, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate.
Company vehicle and fuel card.
Company phone.
25 days’ annual leave plus 8 bank holidays — and your birthday off when it falls midweek!
Pension scheme.
Real career progression within a growing HVAC division.
Opportunities to progress into Lead Engineer, Contracts Manager and ultimately Divisional Lead positions.
Interested in moving away from the tools in the future? There are also potential pathways into pre-construction, design, project management and aftercare.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You’ll ideally have:
- Proven experience in ventilation installation or HVAC engineering.
- Practical experience installing both plastic and traditional sheet-metal ductwork.
- The ability to interpret technical drawings and set out installations accurately.
- Knowledge of ductwork fittings, accessories and associated systems.
- A full UK driving licence.
- A strong work ethic, attention to detail and a genuine team-player mentality.
CSCS, F-Gas, IPAF/PASMA and experience with MVHR, VRF or air handling units would be advantageous, but the key is having the right practical experience and attitude.
WHY MAKE THE MOVE?
You’ll be joining a respected independent contractor with an established reputation, a growing workload and the ambition to develop its HVAC offering further.
This is a newly created position, giving you the opportunity to make your mark, work on interesting projects and develop alongside the division as it grows.
