Credit Controller - #2166437

We're recruiting an experienced Credit Controller to join a well-established finance team in South Leeds on a temporary basis, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent.

Salary: £30,000

Hybrid: 2 days in the office after initial training

Contract: Temporary with a view to permanent

The role

You'll take ownership of a portfolio of large corporate customer accounts, focusing on reducing overdue debt, resolving queries and ensuring payments are received in line with agreed terms.

Working closely with customers, Client Managers and Finance Business Partners, you'll build strong relationships and play an active role in improving cash collection and credit control processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and recover debt across a portfolio of corporate accounts
• Chase overdue payments by phone and email
• Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
• Lead debt review meetings and follow up agreed actions
• Resolve account and payment queries promptly
• Allocate cash receipts and maintain accurate account records
• Track expected payments to support cash flow forecasting
• Assist with weekly debt reporting
• Support Direct Debits, reconciliations and wider sales ledger duties
• Get involved in system improvements, automation and finance transformation projects

What we're looking for

• At least 2 years' Credit Control experience
• Experience managing large corporate ledgers within a sizeable organisation
• Confident stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
• Strong communication, negotiation and influencing ability
• Proactive, resilient and comfortable taking ownership
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
