Backend Developer | Python | Contract | £430/day inside IR35

Enjoy exploring technical options, building prototypes and helping shape a new service?

I’m looking for an experienced Backend Developer to join a small public-sector discovery team, working closely with architects on technical spikes and early solution design.

The details

• Rate: £430 per day, inside IR35

• Locations: Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield

• Hybrid working: 60% onsite target, with scope to negotiate

• Clearance: BPSS

The technical skill set

• Python, Flask and FastAPI

• MongoDB and JSON

• OAuth/OIDC

• AWS, Docker and Linux

• Git and DevOps practices

• HTML and the GOV.UK Design System

You’ll research and test potential approaches, build targeted prototypes and help assess the technology choices for a prospective new service.

This would suit a self-sufficient engineer who enjoys working through ambiguity and explaining technical findings.
