Business Support Manager
We are seeking an organised Business Support Manager to keep a growing charity running smoothly and help more people affected by brain tumours.
Position: Business Support Manager
Salary: £36,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid working from a central Leeds office, or remote working depending on preference and experience
Hours: Full-time
Contract: Permanent
Closing date: 22 November
About the role
Are you the person who keeps things moving, brings order to busy diaries and makes sure decisions turn into action
This varied, hands-on role offers the opportunity to support a charity’s Chief Executive and leadership team while coordinating the processes that help colleagues deliver their best work.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will bring structure to day-to-day operations, support effective governance and act as a key contact for external HR and IT partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing diaries for the Chief Executive and senior leadership team, scheduling meetings and preparing agendas and papers.
- Coordinating four trustee meetings each year, the AGM and board sub-committees, including arrangements, minutes and action tracking.
- Administering travel and expenses, processing claims and ensuring policies are followed.
- Supporting colleagues with holiday, sickness and general HR queries, liaising with an external HR adviser where needed.
- Managing the external IT support contract and coordinating onboarding, offboarding, training and renewals.
- Keeping shared calendars and internal communications organised around key projects and programmes.
About you
You will bring experience of supporting a Chief Executive or senior leadership team, alongside confidence in coordinating board or trustee meetings and producing accurate minutes.
You will be comfortable balancing competing priorities, handling confidential information and following up with colleagues to ensure actions are completed.
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong organisational skills and excellent written communication.
- Experience liaising with external suppliers or advisers.
- A personable, practical approach to supporting a small team.
- Confidence using office systems and learning new HR, travel or expense platforms.
- Discretion and sound judgement when handling sensitive matters.
Experience in a small charity or similarly lean organisation would be an advantage, as would familiarity with HR administration and centralised travel or expense systems.
About the organisation
This charity provides practical and emotional support, trusted information and opportunities for people affected by brain tumours to have a voice in research.
You will join a purposeful team of around 20 people, helping build the operational foundations needed to double the number of people supported over the next five years.
Applications are welcomed from people of all backgrounds.
To apply, please submit your CV and a covering letter explaining your motivation and suitability for the role.
