Data Engineer - SAS, SQL, Python & Databricks - 3 Months - Hybrid - Inside IR35

I'm currently looking for an experienced Data Engineer to support a data transformation project within the insurance industry, with a particular focus on pricing and claims data.

This is an opportunity to work on improving data quality, automating existing processes and supporting the transition towards a more scalable Databricks environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, cleanse and transform complex pricing and claims datasets.
• Build and optimise data pipelines using SQL, Python, SAS Enterprise Guide and Databricks.
• Automate data validation, reconciliation and quality checks.
• Improve existing data processes, reducing manual activities and increasing efficiency.
• Support the migration and modernisation of data processes into Databricks.
• Collaborate with Pricing Analysts and Data teams to deliver technical solutions.
• Produce documentation to support ongoing development and maintenance.

What I'm Looking For:

• Strong commercial Data Engineering experience.
• Advanced SQL skills with large, complex datasets.
• Hands-on Python experience for data transformation and automation.
• Experience working with Databricks or similar cloud data platforms.
• Experience with SAS Enterprise Guide would be highly beneficial.
• Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data quality and pipeline optimisation.
• Ability to work independently and engage with technical and business stakeholders.
• Previous experience within insurance, pricing or financial services would be advantageous.
