CRA Consulting is working in partnership with a well-established legal services organisation seeking an experienced RTA Litigation Claims Handler to join its specialist Motability claims team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a claims professional with a solid background in RTA personal injury to join a collaborative team handling a varied caseload of litigated and disputed claims. The role offers the chance to build on your existing experience, develop your technical expertise and play a key part in achieving positive outcomes for customers.

The Role

Reporting to a Team Leader, you will manage a caseload of Road Traffic Accident (RTA) personal injury claims, covering OIC, MOJ, Fast Track and MIB matters, alongside more complex and litigated cases.
You will oversee claims from initial instruction through to settlement or final resolution, managing liability and quantum disputes, providing appropriate legal guidance and ensuring customers receive a high standard of service throughout the claims process.
The role will also provide exposure to post-whiplash reform claims, including matters involving disputed liability and quantum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a specialist caseload of Motability-related RTA personal injury claims.

  • Handle claims across the OIC, MOJ, MIB and Fast Track processes, including complex and Part 8 litigated matters.

  • Progress claims from initial instruction through to settlement or final resolution.

  • Develop effective strategies for resolving liability and quantum disputes.

  • Handle post-whiplash reform claims, including disputed matters.

  • Assess and value claims up to £20,000.

  • Provide accurate legal advice in line with relevant procedures and internal policies.

  • Build strong client relationships and deliver excellent customer care.

  • Ensure claims are progressed efficiently and within appropriate timescales.

  • Work towards agreed performance, service and quality targets.
About You

You will have experience handling RTA personal injury claims, ideally gained within a law firm, insurance company or specialist legal services environment.
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience managing Fast Track RTA claims.

  • Previous experience handling litigated personal injury matters.

  • A good understanding of the OIC and MOJ processes.

  • Knowledge of the relevant Pre-Action Protocols and Civil Procedure Rules.

  • Experience with tariff and non-tariff injury valuations.

  • Familiarity with the Judicial College Guidelines and general damages assessments.

  • Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach.

  • The ability to manage a busy caseload and prioritise competing deadlines.

  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

  • Experience working towards performance targets, service levels and quality standards.

  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
Working Arrangements

The role offers hybrid working, combining office attendance with home working to provide flexibility while maintaining effective teamwork and collaboration.
Office attendance will be agreed in line with the requirements of the role and wider team.

Benefits

The organisation offers a competitive benefits package, including:

  • Employer pension contributions.

  • Annual bonus opportunity.

  • Generous annual leave entitlement.
