Our client is an AI-first product consultancy that has been investing in AI technologies and AI-assisted software engineering long before the recent industry boom.

As a result of continued growth and increasing demand from clients, they are looking to hire both Senior and Principal Software Engineers to help deliver innovative AI-powered products and platforms for a diverse range of customers.

This is an opportunity to join a business at the forefront of modern software engineering, where AI is embedded into the development lifecycle and engineering teams are encouraged to challenge conventional ways of building software.

The Opportunity

You'll work as part of a highly skilled engineering team, designing and delivering modern applications that leverage the latest advancements in AI, LLMs and agentic workflows.

The organisation believes the role of the software engineer is evolving. Whilst strong software engineering fundamentals remain critical, equal importance is placed on problem-solving, architecture, product thinking and the effective use of AI tools to accelerate delivery and improve outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable full-stack applications
• Develop solutions using modern JavaScript and TypeScript technologies
• Build and integrate AI-powered products and services
• Work with multi-agent and agentic AI workflows
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction
• Utilise AI-assisted development tools as part of day-to-day engineering practices

Technical Environment

• TypeScript
• React
• Next.js
• Node.js
• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Multi-agent AI workflows
• AI-assisted development tools, including Claude Code

Requirements

• Commercial experience developing applications using TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices
• Experience building, integrating or experimenting with LLMs
• A genuine interest in AI and emerging technologies
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience operating at either Senior or Principal Engineer level

Salary

• Senior Software Engineer: £60,000 - £70,000
• Principal Software Engineer: £75,000 - £90,000

Working Arrangements

• Hybrid working model
• Leeds city centre office
• Typically 1-2 days per week onsite
• Greater flexibility available for exceptional candidates
