Hays are working with an established and highly regarded commercial property consultancy based in central Leeds to recruit an experienced Credit Controller to join its property management team.
This is a specialist Credit Controller position working across a varied UK commercial property portfolio, including industrial, retail and office properties. You will work closely with Property Managers and Surveyors, taking responsibility for managing tenant arrears and ensuring outstanding balances are collected effectively.

Your new role..

You will be responsible for the day-to-day credit control of tenant debt across a mixed commercial property portfolio. Typical duties will include:

• Managing and chasing outstanding tenant arrears
• Collecting rent, service charges, insurance and utility recharges
• Liaising with commercial tenants by telephone and in writing
• Working closely with Property Managers and Surveyors to review outstanding arrears
• Attending regular arrears meetings with the wider property team
• Producing weekly and monthly client reporting
• Supporting the effective recovery and management of commercial property debt

What you'll need to succeed..

• Previous Credit Control experience
• Previous experience working within commercial property is essential
• Experience managing a busy ledger and chasing outstanding debt
• Strong communication skills and confidence in dealing with commercial tenants
• The ability to work independently while collaborating with a wider property team
• Good organisation and attention to detail
• Knowledge of commercial debt recovery legislation would be advantageous
