An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified accountant to join a successful FMCG business in West Yorkshire in a senior and highly visible finance role.

As Head of Management Accounts / Senior Finance Business Partner, you will lead the Management Accounting function whilst acting as a key commercial partner to senior stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Innovation and Development.

This is much more than a traditional reporting role. You will provide the insight, challenge and commercial thinking that helps shape business decisions, improve profitability and support sustainable growth.

The role

You will take ownership of:

• Leading, coaching and developing the Management Accounting team
• Ownership of monthly management accounts, reporting, commentary and performance analysis
• Leading budgets, forecasts, latest estimates and longer-term planning
• Improving forecasting accuracy and identifying emerging risks and opportunities
• Partnering with senior commercial and operational stakeholders across the business
• Providing clear commercial insight around customers, brands, products, channels, pricing and margins
• Leading profitability analysis and identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance
• Overseeing trade investment, commercial accruals and off-invoice discount processes
• Developing meaningful MI, dashboards and reporting that supports better decision-making
• Modernising and simplifying reporting, forecasting and planning processes
• Driving greater automation, efficiency and control across the finance function
• Supporting audit, statutory requirements and wider financial governance

You will also champion the effective use of systems and technology including SAP, Power BI, Excel, and Copilot, helping the team move towards more efficient and insightful reporting.

What we're looking forYou will be a qualified accountant, ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with strong commercial finance and management accounting experience gained within an FMCG environment.

You will combine strong technical foundations with a genuinely commercial approach and will be comfortable challenging, influencing and partnering with senior stakeholders outside of finance.Previous team leadership experience is important, alongside a track record of developing people, improving reporting and driving better financial insight and decision-making.

Experience working with SAP, Power BI, or similar reporting and commercial systems would be advantageous.
