Designer – Water & Wastewater Sector
Location: Leeds
At OCU Group, we’re proud of our continued success and growth within the water and wastewater industry. Thanks to the strength of our ongoing projects and expanding client partnerships, we’re now looking for a talented Designer to join our dynamic team based in Leeds.
In this exciting role, you’ll work collaboratively with site managers, project managers, quantity surveyors, clients, and other key stakeholders to deliver high-quality design solutions that support our mission to innovate and lead in the utilities sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed site surveys and desktop studies
- Access and interpret utility drawings and GIS systems
- Create feasibility reports and engaging PowerPoint presentations
- Develop comprehensive detailed design drawings using AutoCAD
- Prepare design risk assessments and material lists
- Implement design changes and updates as needed
- Prepare and compile site handover and project completion documentation
- Attend internal and client-facing meetings
- Provide regular progress updates to the Design Manager or Principal Designer
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree or HND in Construction, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Competent in AutoCAD LT 2D
- Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations
- Understanding of the water or utilities industry is essential
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Full UK driving licence required
